India has been witnessing a great deal of dynamism in the field of education in recent years. Right from primary and even pre-primary, all the way up to graduate cum post-graduate levels, there is a quantum jump in the number of educational institutions and the number of courses that are available to aspiring students. Technological advances such as e-learning have facilitated this surge, vastly improving the geographic reach as well as standardizing the course content across the board.

Despite the good tidings in quantitative terms, the quality of education, especially in the area of value education, has suffered a setback, largely because the emphasis has been on passing exams and not so much on the inculcation of human values that will eventually make good citizens of tomorrow from the good students of today. Humanity Class is an effort to correct this anomaly through live interactive sessions with trained teachers as well as through online courses that will help us penetrate the ever-expanding e-segment in rural as well as urban sectors.

Education has been a major area of thrust for Wockhardt Foundation. We have an enormous stake in e-learning where we have reached out to hundreds of schools in the hinterland all over India. We are committed to value education through our Khel Khel Mein program for children even as we are building colleges in tribal areas as in Parali village of Palghar district of Western Maharashtra. We foresee an impressive dynamism on this front in the months and years ahead.

We have identified the following topics for Humanity Class that will help shape the personalities of our future citizens

The course content is available for online access to students of Stds 8-9-10 for self-study.

Each topic is expected to be covered approximately in one hour using power point slides.

There is a simple, self-administered, open book test that can be undertaken by the student at the end of the course or anytime convenient to him/her

Self-initiated home work assignments will reinforce the online teaching effort

Each student will be encouraged to become a brand ambassador for Humanity Class online and spread the mission farther

A certificate of participation will be given at the end of the course
